Contact us

The fastest way to reach the Sound Decibel Meter team is email:

[email protected]

We answer in plain English from a real human inbox. There is no ticket queue and no phone tree.

What you can write to us about

  • Bug reports. Please include the browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Brave), the operating system and version, the device (smartphone model, laptop, desktop), and the steps to reproduce. A 30-second screen recording or a network-tab screenshot is gold.
  • Feature requests. We're particularly interested in requests from people doing professional measurement work — industrial hygiene, audiology, music production, building acoustics, school administration. Use cases that come from a real workflow shape the roadmap more than abstract ideas.
  • Translation contributions and corrections. Each article page is open to feedback from native speakers. If a sentence in your language reads as a stiff direct translation, tell us how it should read instead. We rewrite, not just patch.
  • Press, partnerships, and content collaborations. Yes to interviews, syndication of specific articles with attribution, and joint content with hearing-health professionals or accessibility organisations. Polite no to "guest post" pitches that are link-building disguised as collaboration.
  • Affiliate questions. We disclose affiliate links inline; if you spot one we missed, write and we'll fix it.
  • Legal, takedown, and regulator inquiries. We respond within five business days. For an urgent matter (a published article causing measurable harm), mark the email subject URGENT and we'll triage same-day during business hours.

What we don't have (yet)

  • No public bug tracker. It's on the roadmap together with the open-source release of the codebase. Until then, email is the only channel and we keep an internal list.
  • No support phone line. We are a small team scattered across time zones; synchronous support would be a worse experience than written replies that we can deliver carefully.
  • No data subject portal. The Site holds essentially no personal data about you (see the Privacy Policy for the exhaustive list). If you want a copy of, or deletion of, prior correspondence with us, just ask in plain language and we'll action it within 30 days.

Response times

We aim to reply to every legitimate email within two business days. Translation and content corrections often get a same-day acknowledgement. Press and partnership emails may take longer when we're working out details internally; we will at least acknowledge receipt within two days.

If you don't hear back within a week, your message may have been caught by a spam filter — feel free to follow up.

Mailing address

We don't list a mailing address publicly because we are a distributed team and there is nothing that physically arrives at "the office". If you need a postal address for legal service or regulator correspondence, write to the email above and we will provide one.

Anything else

If your question is one we hear often, the FAQ probably already answers it. If you want to know what the Site does and why, the About page is the longer version.

Thank you for using Sound Decibel Meter. The shortest version of our mission is: free, accurate enough, and honest about its limits — and emails from readers are how we keep it that way.
